A resting place on the fishy Höytiainen

Do you feel the call of the bright and fishy Feather? Do you crave your own resting place of spirit and body?

This charming wild cottage island is located only about 500 m from the mainland, close to the services of the church village of Polvijärvi, 40 minutes from Joensuu. There are only two cottages on the island.

The complex consists of a log main cottage built in 1968 and heated by a large fireplace. Easy-to-care wooden surfaces fit into the environment. In addition to cabinets, there is a gas stove in the kitchen corner, which has been steadily serving for decades. The sauna can be found behind the wall. The spacious terrace of the cottage sits comfortably in the southern sun at a larger table. In 2020, a solar panel was installed on the roof of the cottage, providing enough light for the dark evenings of late summer.

The building of approx. 28 m2, where there is no information about the municipal building permit system, has two separate rooms. The beautiful logs, washed with a secret ax, exude atmosphere. There is storage space on the upper sides of the second chamber.

In addition to sooty pan coffees, warp salmon and other delicacies are prepared in the cottage kitchen, renovated in 2023 in the courtyard. The owner of the cottage has also built a pizza oven in the yard.

The complex also includes a ground cellar for storing drinks and vegetables, two outhouses and a small storage room.

Water is carried from a well shared with a neighbor, something that has not been explored.

All the buildings are located on their own 1.8 ha farm with approx. 400 m of private beach and a rolling, wooded environment offering peace and privacy with plenty of berry and chanterelle places. The boat will be parked at the pier on the south southwest beach.
