Yli-Ii Municipal Hall

Now for sale is a piece of Yli-i's history! Originally built as a creamery in 1913, the building later served as a contagious disease hospital and municipal hall, and when you enter it, it's like stepping back in time into Yli-i's history. Time stops here. There are no fewer than 29 rooms in this complex. Each room has its own name and story. The windows offer a magnificent view of the intersection of the Iijoki and Siuruanjoki rivers, which always amazes you with its beauty. The building consists of three parts in total, the old part, i.e. the protected log building, the later expanded former fire station, and the extension built in 1978. Over the years, the extension has housed, among other things, a post office and a health center, which are still remembered by, among other things, its own vault. The premises of the former fire station today include, among other things, a fully functional modern kitchen, two bathrooms, two separate toilets, a games room, and a playroom, as well as a lounge area with direct access to the terrace built on the riverbank. The old log part has been restored to its former glory in recent years by exposing the logs. In the 2020s, the property has also experienced other good improvements, such as replacing the windows, replacing the oil heating with four air-source heat pumps, etc. A great addition to this complex is also a lakeside sauna, which offers great views of the river. The separate extension built later is in worse condition and still requires a lot of renovation. Only the old log part of the building is protected.
